AVEN: the cell death regulator

AVEN concerns itself with lysosomes and killing cells.  Lysosomes can be triggered to open and release their digestive "juices."  If the lysosomes are all told to open, they will kill the cell.  Aven primarily deals with regulating the killing of cells via the lysosomes.
